The online Master of Engineering (Management) is designed for skilled engineers and entrepreneurs who want to advance their career and prepare for the challenges of leadership in engineering and technology-based organisations.

The program is composed of practical and industry-relevant courses where knowledge learnt can be applied immediately to impact your career and organisation. These courses range in focus from Building Quality Organisations, and Performance Management Foundations, to Engineering Economic Strategy and International Engineering Management, for example, and are delivered by experienced academics who are connected and renowned industry leaders.

Unlike other management programs, the Master of Engineering (Management) delivers a tailored qualification specific to the needs of the growing engineering sector.

What you will study

The Master of Engineering (Management) program comprises of 12 courses, of which two are research projects and the other 10 are comprised of:

  • System Engineering Principles 
  • Management of Technology 
  • Building Quality Organisations
  • Industrial Systems and Environment 
  • Integrated Logistics Support Management 
  • Risk Management and Feasibility
  • Engineering Economic Strategy
  • International Engineering Management
  • Performance Management Foundations
  • Project Management

Entry requirements

An Australian Bachelor's degree, or higher level qualification, in Engineering or Business related disciplines, or equivalent, with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of equal to or greater than 2.0 out of 4.0. Applicants with a GPA less than 2.0 out of 4.0, that have at least two years of relevant work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

International qualifications are assessed for comparability to Australian qualifications according to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). International students are required to provide current evidence of English language proficiency for admission to RMIT University (see below).

Early exit options Our Master of Engineering (Management) encompasses courses that make up our Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma, so should you need to exit the program early you still have earned a postgraduate qualification.

Australian Student Visas
